I too like to share something.
Its a motivational story !!!

So....

Once upon a time there was a bunch of baby frogs....

… participating in a
competition.

The target was to get to the top of a high tower.

A crowd of people had gathered to observe the race and encourage the participants.....

The start shot rang out.......

Quite honestly:

None of the onlookers believed that the baby frogs could actually accomplish getting to the top of the tower.

Words like:

"Ã…h, it’s too difficult !!!

They’ll never reach the top."

or:

"Not a chance... the tower is too high!"

One by one some of the baby frogs fell off…

...Except those who fastly climbed higher and higher..

The crowd kept on yelling:

"It’s too difficult. Nobody is going to make it!"

More baby frogs became tired and gave up...

...But one kept going higher and higher.....

He was not about giving up!

At the end everybody had given up, except the one determined to reach the top!

All the other participants naturally wanted to know how he had managed to do what none of thm others had been able to do!

One competitor asked thm winner, what was his secret?

The truth was.......

The winner was deaf!!!!

The lesson to be learned:

Don’t ever listen to people who are negative and pessimistic...

…they will deprive you of your loveliest dreams and wishes you carry in your heart!

Although mathematics will help you arrive at elegant and efficient methods, the use of a computer and programming skills will be required to solve most problems.

The motivation for starting Project Euler, and its continuation, is to provide a platform for the inquiring mind to delve into unfamiliar areas and learn new concepts in a fun and recreational context.

Who are the problems aimed at?

The intended audience include students for whom the basic curriculum is not feeding their hunger to learn, adults whose background was not primarily mathematics but had an interest in things mathematical, and professionals who want to keep their problem solving and mathematics on the edge.

Can anyone solve the problems?

The problems range in difficulty and for many the experience is inductive chain learning. That is, by solving one problem it will expose you to a new concept that allows you to undertake a previously inaccessible problem. So the determined participant will slowly but surely work his/her way through every problem.

How do I know where should I start?

That depends on your background. In the Problems table you will be able to see how many people have solved each problem. As a general rule of thumb the more people that have solved it, the easier it is.

I've written my program but should it take days to get to the answer?

Absolutely not! Each problem has been designed according to a "one-minute rule", which means that although it may take several hours to design a successful algorithm with more difficult problems, an efficient implementation will allow a solution to be obtained on a modestly powered computer in less than one minute.

Does it matter if it takes more than one minute to solve?

Of course not, but that should provide the impetus to return to the problem and see how you can improve your approach. But remember that once you've solved a particular problem you will be able to access a thread relating to that problem and it is here that you may be able to pick some tips from others that have solved it.

I solved it by using a search engine, does that matter?

Making use of the internet to research a problem is to be encouraged as there could be hidden treasures of mathematics to be discovered beneath the surface of many of these problems. However, there is a fine line between researching ideas and using the answer you found on another website. If you photocopy a crossword solution then what have you achieved?

I've checked my program ten times now and I keep getting told my answer is wrong! Have you made a mistake?

With newly released problems it is quite possible that a small error may have slipped through the net, or maybe the wording is slightly ambiguous and the problem has not been explained as well as it could. However, when so many people have hit the target and one marksman misses ten times on the run, he/she can hardly shoot his/her own foot and conclude that because the gun is working properly the fault must lie in the target.

Do you have any hints on solving problems?

Read the details of the problem very carefully and make note of any example cases given. Experiment with pencil and paper to get a feel for the ideas behind the problem. If the ideas are new to you, use the internet or books to get some background; the problem should contain clues as to what to look-up. Try writing a program to generate for simple cases and check that your output agrees with the example cases; this will confirm you've understood the problem and are heading in the right direction. Based on this try to extrapolate to estimate the time it will take to get the final answer and if it's going to take significantly more than a minute rethink your strategy.

Project Euler was started by Colin Hughes (a.k.a. euler) in October 2001 as a sub-section on mathschallenge.net. Who could have known how popular these types of problems would turn out to be? Since then the membership has continued to grow and Project Euler moved to its own domain in 2006.

In order to understand this I will give you an simple example.



From this figure we can see the connection with the circle and the point p explicitly.






Now we may think that point p has no connection with the circle if we look at a rapid manner.We may not able to realize the connection quickly.But when we take a time and looked deeply we can see it .






That is both lie in a plane .That is they are connected through a plane.In this case this can be understood by a mathematician or those who study mathematics .

Conclusion
Similarly there is a connection with the sequence of events that is happening in our life.some are explicit and some are implicit.In order to understood the implicit connection we should take a measure towards that.So I conclude this by saying that everything is connected.

Funny thing that have to be noticed with Notepad



A Hole In Notepad

Now, this is something cool Over at WinCustomize, someone thought they found an Easter Egg in the Windows Notepad application. But he infact found something weird in it.

It works like this:

1. Open Notepad
2. Type the text this app can break.
3. Save the file.
4. Re-open the file in Notepad.

Notepad displays seemingly-random Chinese characters, or boxes if your default Notepad font doesn't support those characters.

It's not an Easter egg (even though it seems like a funny one), and as it turns out, Notepad writes the file correctly. It's only when Notepad reads the file back in that it seems to lose its mind.

But we can't even blame Notepad: it's a limitation of Windows itself, specifically the Windows function that Notepad uses to figure out if a text file is Unicode or not.

So, how's this trick? If this works, do let me know whether you got boxes or some Chinese character. Well, I got Chinese characters. This works in Windows XP, but I am not sure about Windows Vista.

Actually when I joined mathematics I didn't like it but at the end I started feeling its inner weird structure .But right now I am a lover of mathematics.In terms of mathematics I have moved from minus infinty to plus infinity.How much I have hated
mathematics that much I am liking now.


First reason why you hate Mathematics is specially because you has been not taught mathematics in such a way that you see its fun features and it's applications.This is not your mistake .But you can try to correct it atleast after reading this.
Actually it will take years to post the philosophical concepts taught by mathematics so i am posting few of them.

some people may say god does not exist anywhere rather he exits within you similarly Mathematics is not a third person, it's you within you .
once you completely read the post you will understand that Mathematics is an openbook for open minded people.

how to learn(enjoy) any subject especially mathematics
Things that I want to share.This is my own ideas .If anything hurted you sorry for that.
(1)Mathematics is the bridge between real world and the abstract(virtual world)world.
Mathematics is like a magic box those who able to grasp the concept can see the box but those who doesn't able to get the concept can't see the box .Anyhow the thing the box is there that you can't deny it.Actually that box is not magic you are thinking it as a magic ,that is what you are creating an illusion ,this will be done by people those who doesn't able to get the concepts.It's not their mistake .
In simple words
if p then q (statement)
if not p then not q(inverse)
where p=>if you think it is possible and q=> then it is possible


(2)Mathematics teaches you flexibility
for some problems in order to understand it you have to take the bigger set and for some problems you have to take the smaller sets.
what I am speaking now may look weird to you so I explain it with an example
I will explain how to find the consecutive zeroes of any factorial in my later post.for time being just see the below I have posted answers
let us take an example of finding zeroes of 100!+ 200! and 100!* 200!
100! has 24 zeroes
200! has 49 zeroes
if you consider now 100!+200! at first it may look weird to you (that's what I meantioned it as a magic box ,once you come out of illusion or shell)by considering a smaller set like
10000 It has 4 zeroes and it is a 5 digit no
+2000 It has 3 zeroes and it is a four digit no
12000 It has 4 zeroes and it is a 5 digit no
Thing to be noted here from this one that in the resultant(output) only there are three zeroes even though first no(input) has four zeroes what happened in the intermediate .Why is it so there is no magic in that because one of the zeroes in the first no (input that is 10000)has been overridden by a nonzero no in the second
no(input that is 2000) so from this what we infer .
Syllogism concept two statements are given from this what we are observing
one has least no of zeroes is the answer so for the first one
the no of zeroes of 100! + 200!
the answer is 24zeroes .(since 24 is the least one from 24 and 49)
Now move to the second one find the no of zeroes of 100! * 200!
similarly consider an example you may also consider the above example which i used previously also so i am taking the same example for the illustration.Also it is easy because i can copy paste since I am a bit lazy fellow
10000 It has 4 zeroes and it is a 5 digit no
*2000 It has 3 zeroes and it is a four digit no
20000000 It has 7 zeroes and it is a 8 digit no
similarly by considering so many examples like this we can observe the following result
the no of zeroes in the resultant=no of zeroes in the first no(first input)+ no of zeroes in the second input
so the answer for the no of zeroes of 100!*200! is 24+49=73 zeroes

3)Mathematics is the mother of reasonings

4)The great advantage of disadvantage of Mathematics is its advantage ,what I mean by that ?.Everyone knows that philosophy is a subject that teaches concepts about us and our idealogies .But do you know that the mathematics teaches you but everyone can't realize once again as I said previously those who able to come out of their shell can realize this .That's what the way it teaches you is the problem (when you didn't come out of your shell).so what I want to say that Mathematics teaches you a philosophy of life.


5)For my next idea I will start with an example so you can easily get what I mean.let us consider an input as your life .There are various reactions (factors or what I mean here is people or a living thing) affecting your life some may be positive and some others not .Based on these influences you are attracted towards some people only .let us take an example you have came across 30 peoples and you feel that you are attracted by 10 peoples ad you are creating an niche(image) that they are good peoples .From this you can't infer that they are the good people in the universe because there are so much people left over there that you have to consider .(I have used unintenionally 2nd idea here)


6) what most of the people are doing? .once they come across a formula they are just memorizing it and (it looks like a magic box for them) they are just using that without realizing its inner meanings.


7)Mathematics also helpful in understanding what is mean by understanding.As everyone knows what is meant by understanding that is nothing but how do you connect older stuff with the newer stuff.


8)x=y =>x+2=y+2.
Is this just performing calculations.The part of mathematics which teaches you the concept of impartiality to others.Whatever you have done to other side do it for everyone.


9)Another best philosophy taught by mathematics is just don't see the things rather observe the things.But most of the students are not doing it you have to get your hands dirty why is it .what is happening behind them.In this way the mathematics is build.That's why when one mathematician come up with a new idea that will be discussed by all mathematicians to infer that whether it is true.In this concept the mathematics related to a beautiful quote by thiruvalluvar

10)See the things in a way rather than it is in order to explore the new concept out of it.When you look at the same thing in a same way it's mysterious concepts can't be revealed to you.In order to understand this I will give you an good example.Consider a subject called Nanotechnology.What is the concept behind Nanotechnology when you take a one thing and break it and break it and at last at a certain stage it will exhibit some mysterious features that is fully complement to its original size.what I want to say from this Don't look at the thing in a same prespective rather look in another way than it is so you may learn some more new things.similarly like nanotechnology I am giving an specific exapmle,In mathematics you can consider an example of cantor set[0,1].


11)Don't do shallow learning do deep learning.What I mean by that don't just study and forgot rather apply it in your life so that you can realize the consequences and sometimes you may see the real differences what you studied and what you applied and what you infered.Especially this is true when you come to computer network security concepts


12)As you know the proverb "old is gold".This is certainly true in terms of mathematics . older concepts are used in newer concepts in order to prove the newer concepts especially in theorems.


13)measuring some certainity about uncertainity.you can realize it I am specially speaking about a subject called probability.for example what is the probability that men will be pregnant? That is known for sure it can't occur .So like these mysterious concepts can be studied by taking this topic in a depth.


14)Everyone knows "Images speak louder than words " and "A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins With a Single Step".This is specially true when it comes to a visual subject called Geometry .Geometry concepts build up from a single entity which has no dimension that is called point.So mathematics also teaches a universe pronciple called "Everything came out of nothing".


14)Mathematics even teaches you the principles towards God.see actually God is an abstract quantity the person you can't see rather you can feel.But eventhough you are considering the person by considering an small statue that too in different methods adopted by different religions.How Mathematics is linked with that?.In Mathematics the god is nothing but infinity (undefined entity)everyone knows that he exists but who he is (infinity) doesn't understood by anyone.It's all upto your views.How much big you can image that much is the infinity for you .for a child the big number may be 100,for you the big number may be 100000000000000000 .The range varies based on your open mindness.

In terms of visual basic if I want to say computerscience is nothing but caption where as mathematics is name.Caption creates an illusion play the role of a name till you didn't come out of your shell(as I told previously the magic box)

If I started saying six is an prime number you may started laughing because six ix composite according to you because you have considered the natural numbers or counting numbers as a set.But you don't know what set I have taken .
ok I will reveal on my own.I have considered the following set
{2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20,22,24.....}
now revise the prime number definition and come here
Anything which can't be expressed as a multiples from within the set then it is called prime .so 6 is a prime
since in order to express 6 you need a 2 and 3.But 3 is not present in the above set .so 6 is a prime when you consider the above set,where as {4,8,12,16.....}are composite .And {2,6,10,14,18....} are prime since in order to express it as prime factorization you need the odd numbers {1,3,5,7,9...} which is absolutely not present in the set.

Now I will give an example through php and javascript,but before that I want to ask you one question what is meant by an array?.You may started laughing Why this fool is asking such an question .An array is just nothing but a set of homegenous data types in contionuous memory location .But in case of php and javascript array need not be homogenous.so we need to do some alteration to the definition of array.An array is nothing but a continouous memory locations but need not be homogenous.so you should not come to a conclusion based on the languages c,c++ and java.But in languages like php and javascript you no need to declare datatypes before they use.

I didn't start with the english language since it is obvious.As you know one word have many meanings based on the context it will mapped to a specific vocabulary.So I think I don't need to tell more about this.

Now I will proceed with the connection with mahabharatha.In Mahabharatha at the time of battle Arjuna will ask krishna whether that he should kill his fellow members.For that Krishna will say this thing in order to convince Arjuna,"Everything is good or Bad it's all upto you .The people you think may be good to you at the end may nod be good to you and the people whom you think may not be good to you may be good to you .This has been described perfectly in a film called Gokulathil Seethai,specifically in one scene in which suvalakshni conversation with Karthik.so you can't judge anything by it's external look so go internal in order to feel it's inner beauty.That is why interview is conducted.Interview is just nothing but an a conversation that has been conducted in order to find your inner views.SO Math is fun or not fun it's all upto you ,but the thing is that since you considered the math is not fun it doesn't mean that math is not fun for all .Also you may see that in this post I have used the phrase "I want to say that " like that again and again .Why is it so?.When you started liking anything you want to say it is good and nice by thinking to say finite no of things favouring towards that .But when you started you won't be able to end you will be in a oscillating sequence whether to end or not .This is specifically you can notice from the teachings of great professors .Most of the times they will reflect this in their behaviour.But anything which has been started has to come to end .So I will end here .My words may end here but my intentions may not,hope you understood.

what others told:
Healthy:

My solution:
My solution seems to be silly,but this may be applicable.Now-a-days even 11th standard student studying a lot about internet .we also studied internet fundamentals on the commencement of 11th class.so what I think anything which has been grown into large amount ,we can't implement the changes quickly.Also internet is now become a part of human' s daily life.Also sir pointed out in previous lecture one country has got fundamentals rights for the internet.So changes can't be implemented quickly .This is similarly like tcp/ip concept anything grown in huge can't be changed within one day.So what my solution is simple as a part of school curriculam while teaching internet fundamentals they should include social internetworking as one topic and should teach about the ethical and unethical behaviours of the social networking site and also how to assure that he is secure.You can't solve some simple things through tremondous growth in technology like as I told in my minutes session even simple things which human can do within a second can't be done by a computer in an accurate manner e.g pattern recognition.Also my soultion will better suits everyone even if they don't belong to csc departments.Because as a part of school curriculam they will learn this.

A young man wished to marry the farmer's beautiful daughter. He went to the farmer to ask his permission.

The farmer looked at him and said, "Son, go stand out in that field. I'm going to release three bulls, one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls, you can marry my daughter."

The young man stood in the field awaiting the first bull. The barn door opened and out came the biggest, meanest looking bull he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a better choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass through.

The barn door opened again. Unbelievable He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life. It stood pawing the ground, it eyed him. Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this one he thought. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through.

The door opened a third time. A smile came across his face. This was the weakest bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull, he said to himself. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He threw his hands to grab..... But alas..... The bull had no tail.

Moral : Life is full of opportunities. Always grab the first one..

A true story - very shocking

This is a real story of a young college girl who passed away last month in Chandigarh.

Her name was Priya. She was hit by a truck.

She was working in a call center. She had a boy friend named Shankar.

Both of them were true lovers. They always talked on the phone.

You would never found her without handphone. In fact she also changed her cell connection from Airtel to Hutch, so that both of them can be on the same network, and save on the cost.
She used to spend half of the day talking with shankar.
Priya's family knew about their relationship. . Shankar was very close to Priya's family as well. (Just imagine their love) .
Before she passed away she always told her friends 'If I pass away please burn me with my handphone' she also said the same thing to her parents.
After her death, people cudnt carry her body, A lot of them tried to do so,but still cant. Everybody had tried to carry the body, the results were the same.
Eventually, they called a person known to one of their neighbours, who can speak with the soul of dead person and who was a friend of her father.
He took a stick and started speaking to himself slowly.
After a few minutes, he said 'this girl misses something here.' Then her friends told that person about her intentions to burn her with her phone.

He then opened the grave box and place her phone and sim card inside the casket. After that they tried to carry the body. It was then moved easily and they then carried her into the van.

All of us were shocked. Priya's parents did not inform Shankar that Priya had passed away..

After 2 weeks Shankar called Priya's mom.....

Shankar :.....'Aunty, I'm coming home today. Cook something nice for me.

Don't tell Priya that I'm coming home today, I wanna surprise her.'

Her mother replied..... 'You come home first, I wanna tell you something very important.'

After he came, they told him the truth about Priya.

Shankar thinks that they were playing a fool. He was laughing and said 'don't try to fool me - tell Priya to come out, i have a gift for her. Please stop this nonsense'.

Then they show him the original death certificate to him.
They gave him proof to make him believe. (Shankar started to sweat) He said... 'Its not true. We spoke yesterday.. She still calls me.

Shankar was shaking.
Suddenly, Shankar's phone rang. 'see this is from Priya, see this....' he showed the phone to priya's family. all of them told him to answer. he talked using the loudspeaker mode.

All of them heard his conversation.
Loud and clear, no cross lines, no humming.
It is the actual voice of Priya & there is no way others could use her sim card since it is nailed inside the grave box

They were so shocked and asked for the same person's
(who can speak with the soul of deal persons) help again. He brought his master to solve this matter.

The Missing Cat
A small story:

Long ago, (Not so long ago) there was a Guruji who had few students. He used to take his classes under a tree. One day when he was taking class there was a Cat roaming around that area disturbing the concentration of students.

So the Guruji decided to tie that cat to a near by tree and gave it some milk to drink so that it would keep quite. The next day Guruji had to visit some other place. So he asked one of his senior students to handle that day's classes.

As per the words of Guruji, that senior student was ready to take the class. But he seemed to be disturbed and worried. His friends asked him the reasons. And he replied: " I am ready to take the class. But what to do? The cat is missing. Our Guruji used to tie the cat to that tree while he was taking the classes. So i also need to follow the same thing. But to my worry the Cat is Missing".

Most of our modern day activities are like this only. We have forgotten the soul of the concepts and simply sticking to the meaningless rituals.

In studies, the examinations are to check whether you have understood the ideas or not. But today most of us study only for the exams.

In research, the publications are outcome of solid research works. But today lots and lots of cook-up of data is happeneing around. I would not call these things research.

Even in marriage/ other religious activities you can observe few rituals being followed forgetting the cream of truth behind it.

These are nothing more than searching for the missing cat in our story.

Auto Shutdown PC With Timer-no extra software required

Step 1:

Right click on your desktop and choose "New=>shortcuts".

Step 2:

In the box that says "Type the location of the shortcut",
type in "shutdown -s -t 3600" without the quotation marks and click next.

Note: 3600 are the amount of seconds before your computer shuts down. So , 60secs*60mins=3600secs.

Step 3:

Make up a name for the shortcut and you're done.
You can change the icon by right clicking=>properities=>change icon=>browse.

To abort

To make an abort key to stop the shutdown timer just create another shortcut and make
the "location of the shortcut" to " shutdown -a" without the quotes.

Naga Naresh Karutura has just passed out of IIT Madras in Computer Science and has joined Google in Bangalore.

You may ask, what's so special about this 21-year-old when there are hundreds of students passing out from various IITs and joining big companies like Google?

Naresh is special. His parents are illiterate. He has no legs and moves around in his powered wheel chair. (In fact, when I could not locate his lab, he told me over the mobile phone, 'I will come and pick you up'. And in no time, he was there to guide me)

Ever smiling, optimistic and full of spirit; that is Naresh. He says, "God has always been planning things for me. That is why I feel I am lucky."

Childhood in a village

I spent the first seven years of my life in Teeparru, a small village in Andhra Pradesh, on the banks of the river Godavari. My father Prasad was a lorry driver and my mother Kumari, a house wife. Though they were illiterate, my parents instilled in me and my elder sister (Sirisha) the importance of studying.

Looking back, one thing that surprises me now is the way my father taught me when I was in the 1st and 2nd standards. My father would ask me questions from the text book, and I would answer them. At that time, I didn't know he could not read or write but to make me happy, he helped me in my studies!

Another memory that doesn't go away is the floods in the village and how I was carried on top of a buffalo by my uncle. I also remember plucking fruits from a tree that was full of thorns.

I used to be very naughty, running around and playing all the time with my friends.. I used to get a lot of scolding for disturbing the elders who slept in the afternoon. The moment they started scolding, I would run away to the fields!

I also remember finishing my school work fast in class and sleeping on the teacher's lap!

January 11, 1993, the fateful day

On the January 11, 1993 when we had the sankranti holidays, my mother took my sister and me to a nearby village for a family function. From there we were to go with our grandmother to our native place. But my grandmother did not come there. As there were no buses that day, my mother took a lift in my father's friend's lorry. As there were many people in the lorry, he made me sit next to him, close to the door.

It was my fault; I fiddled with the door latch and it opened wide throwing me out. As I fell, my legs got cut by the iron rods protruding from the lorry. Nothing happened to me except scratches on my legs.

The accident had happened just in front of a big private hospital but they refused to treat me saying it was an accident case. Then a police constable who was passing by took us to a government hospital.

First I underwent an operation as my small intestine got twisted. The doctors also bandaged my legs. I was there for a week. When the doctors found that gangrene had developed and it had reached up to my knees, they asked my father to take me to a district hospital. There, the doctors scolded my parents a lot for neglecting the wounds and allowing the gangrene to develop. But what could my ignorant parents do?

In no time, both my legs were amputated up to the hips.

I remember waking up and asking my mother, where are my legs? I also remember that my mother cried when I asked the question. I was in the hospital for three months.

Life without legs

I don't think my life changed dramatically after I lost both my legs. Because all at home were doting on me, I was enjoying all the attention rather than pitying myself. I was happy that I got a lot of fruits and biscuits.

'I never wallowed in self-pity'

The day I reached my village, my house was flooded with curious people; all of them wanted to know how a boy without legs looked. But I was not bothered; I was happy to see so many of them coming to see me, especially my friends!
All my friends saw to it that I was part of all the games they played; they carried me everywhere.

God's hand

I believe in God. I believe in destiny. I feel he plans everything for you. If not for the accident, we would not have moved from the village to Tanuku, a town. There I joined a missionary school, and my father built a house next to the school. Till the tenth standard, I studied in that school.

If I had continued in Teeparu, I may not have studied after the 10th. I may have started working as a farmer or someone like that after my studies. I am sure God had other plans for me.

My sister, my friend

When the school was about to reopen, my parents moved from Teeparu to Tanuku, a town, and admitted both of us in a Missionary school. They decided to put my sister also in the same class though she is two years older. They thought she could take care of me if both of us were in the same class. My sister never complained.

She would be there for everything. Many of my friends used to tell me, you are so lucky to have such a loving sister. There are many who do not care for their siblings.

She carried me in the school for a few years and after a while, my friends took over the task. When I got the tricycle, my sister used to push me around in the school.

My life, I would say, was normal, as everyone treated me like a normal kid. I never wallowed in self-pity. I was a happy boy and competed with others to be on top and the others also looked at me as a competitor.

Inspiration

I was inspired by two people when in school; my Maths teacher Pramod Lal who encouraged me to participate in various local talent tests, and a brilliant boy called Chowdhary, who was my senior.

When I came to know that he had joined Gowtham Junior College to prepare for IIT-JEE, it became my dream too. I was school first in 10th scoring 542/600.

Because I topped in the state exams, Gowtham Junior College waived the fee for me. Pramod Sir's recommendation also helped. The fee was around Rs 50,000 per year, which my parents could never afford.

Moving to a residential school

Living in a residential school was a big change for me because till then my life centred around home and school and I had my parents and sister to take care of all my needs. It was the first time that I was interacting with society. It took one year for me to adjust to the new life.

There, my inspiration was a boy called K K S Bhaskar who was in the top 10 in IIT-JEE exams. He used to come to our school to encourage us. Though my parents didn't know anything about Gowtham Junior School or IIT, they always saw to it that I was encouraged in whatever I wanted to do.. If the results were good, they would praise me to the skies and if bad, they would try to see something good in that. They did not want me to feel bad.

They are such wonderful supportive parents.

Life at IIT- Madras

Though my overall rank in the IIT-JEE was not that great (992), I was 4th in the physically handicapped category. So, I joined IIT, Madras to study Computer Science.

Here, my role model was Karthik who was also my senior in school. I looked up to him during my years at IIT- Madras.

He had asked for attached bathrooms for those with special needs before I came here itself. So, when I came here, the room had attached bath. He used to help me and guide me a lot when I was here.

I evolved as a person in these four years, both academically and personally. It has been a great experience studying here. The people I was interacting with were so brilliant that I felt privileged to sit along with them in the class. Just by speaking to my lab mates, I gained a lot..

'There are more good people in society than bad ones'

Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to Prof Pandurangan and all my lab mates; all were simply great. I was sent to Boston along with four others for our internship by Prof Pandurangan. It was a great experience.

Joining Google R&D

I did not want to pursue PhD as I wanted my parents to take rest now.

Morgan Stanley selected me first but I preferred Google because I wanted to work in pure computer science, algorithms and game theory.

I am lucky

Do you know why I say I am lucky?

I get help from total strangers without me asking for it. Once after my second year at IIT, I with some of my friends was travelling in a train for a conference. We met a kind gentleman called Sundar in the train, and he has been taking care of my hostel fees from then on.

I have to mention about Jaipur foot. I had Jaipur foot when I was in 3rd standard. After two years, I stopped using them. As I had almost no stems on my legs, it was very tough to tie them to the body. I found walking with Jaipur foot very, very slow. Sitting also was a problem. I found my tricycle faster because I am one guy who wants to do things faster.

One great thing about the hospital is, they don't think their role ends by just fixing the Jaipur foot; they arrange for livelihood for all. They asked me what help I needed from them. I told them at that time, if I got into an IIT, I needed financial help from them. So, from the day I joined IIT, Madras, my fees were taken care of by them. So, my education at the IIT was never a burden on my parents and they could take care of my sister's Nursing studies.

Surprise awaited me at IIT

After my first year, when I went home, two things happened here at the Institute without my knowledge.

I got a letter from my department that they had arranged a lift and ramps at the department for me. It also said that if I came a bit early and checked whether it met with my requirements, it would be good.

Second surprise was, the Dean, Prof Idichandy and the Students General Secretary, Prasad had located a place that sold powered wheel chairs. The cost was Rs 55,000. What they did was, they did not buy the wheel chair; they gave me the money so that the wheel chair belonged to me and not the institute.

My life changed after that. I felt free and independent.

That's why I say I am lucky. God has planned things for me and takes care of me at every step.

The world is full of good people

I also feel if you are motivated and show some initiative, people around you will always help you. I also feel there are more good people in society than bad ones. I want all those who read this to feel that if Naresh can achieve something in life, you can too. (via : email)
